Gardens of Quercy

Founded in 1989 in Verfeil-sur-Seye (Tarn-et-Garonne), the Jardins de Quercy are a compound of deux jardins à l'anglaise : le "jardin du haut" et le "jardin du bas". Dans un carde bucolique, les Jardins de Quercy s'étend sur un domaine d'un hectare. Labellisés "Jardin Remarquable", les jardins fleurisses à la période de mai à Septembre.

Les Jardins de Quercy

Classé "Jardin Remarquable" auprès du Ministère de la Culture en 2007, les Jardins de Quercy sont composés de 22 jardins tous différents  mais chacun composé par l'influence britannique. 

 

Les Jardins de Quercy in Verfeil-sur-Seye, in the heart of the Tarn-et-Garonne region, offer an unforgettable stroll through some twenty themed areas, designed with sensitivity and passion. From Neil's Garden, intimate and structured, to the Andalusian terraces bathed in light and Majorelle blue, each area tells its own story. English-inspired gardens, plant cloisters, flowery undergrowth, green theater or Asian garden... Here, shapes, colors and fragrances flow harmoniously, between formal rigor and creative freedom. A place of emotion, memory and beauty, where nature is always reinvented.

Overview

Founded in 1989 in Verfeil-sur-Seye, Jardins de Quercy flower from May to September. They are open to visitors from Thursday to Sunday, 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.

  • Self-guided tour of the gardens : 7.50€ adult / 3€ child (4 to 13 years) / Free (-4 years)
  • Guided tour of the gardens (duration 1h30 - minimum group size 10) : 10€ / person
  • Group guided tour + gourmet snack: on request

Laguépie

Between the’albigeois, the Rouergue and confluence of the Aveyron and Viaur rivers, Laguépie is the ideal place for those looking for a nature getaway. Here you will find medieval history and unspoiled nature. In autumn, it's chestnuts which is honored with a regionally renowned fair. Laguépie is also known as a commune halte du chemin de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle with the transition from GR36 that connects Conques (Aveyron) in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) via Najac (Aveyron) and Laguépie. In summer, it's the quality of Viaur water who has the village talking with the opening of a supervised bathing area from July 1 to August 31.

Caylus

Overlooking the Bonnette Valley, The village of Caylus has a rich history! It has preserved its medieval past through its surviving square tower of the royal castle but also among the details that some notable houses have retained. This is the case of the House of Wolves that appeals to passers-by. Caylus is also home to a remarkable church, Saint-Jean-Baptiste church, an architectural masterpiece Gothic from the 13th and 14th centuries. Discover the Christ by Ossip Zadkine top of 5.40 metres and carved in a single trunk of abalone wood. The village is also famous for its regional festival, the potters' market, which takes place every year in mid-August and brings together local ceramists and potters. In 2025, it will be the 32nd Potters' Market August 14 and 15 9am to 7pm Place de la halle. Over the two days, discover the 36 exhibitors and their know-how. Grès, earthenware, raku, porcelain, mixed earthenware, terra sigillata, glazed earthenware ... 36 variations on the ceramic material in sculpture, tableware, interior and exterior decoration and jewelry...  When the weather's nice, take advantage of the circus of Labarthe, A wetland protected for its local flora and fauna. Take the time to walk around the lake, following the directions for the "Roger le brochet" interpretation trail" and relax by the water. In summer, enjoy the lively evenings at the guinguette du lac.

St Antonin Noble Val

Dominated by the Roc d'Anglars whose high walls stand majestically, the commune of Saint-Antonin Noble Val (Occitanie) is nestled in the in a valley between the Aveyron and Bonnette rivers. Its old mansions entwined along winding lanes, with their geminated or mullioned windows, Gothic or Romanesque arches, old portals and covered market, invite you to stroll and discover.  Medieval city du Tarn-et-Garonne nestled in the heart of the Aveyron Gorges, Saint-Antonin is a true regional hub, renowned for its outdoor activities.  Not to mention numerous art craftsmen, the charm of the narrow streets and the  famous Sunday market for which the village is famous.
