Our nuggets

It's when you get lost, in the middle of lanes, countryside and green fields, that you make the most beautiful encounters: old covered market halls and upright pigeon lofts tell you the story of an entire païs. In Causses et Gorges de l'Aveyron, as you explore the valleys along the way, you'll discover real treasures, with the charm of a heritage discovered off the beaten track.

Beaulieu Abbey

Ancient Cistercian abbey dating from the 13th century, the Abbaye de Beaulieu-en-Rouergue has become the setting for an exceptional collection of modern art, in dialogue with a garden of a thousand roses.

Pure and elegant, it impresses with its clarity and sobriety, typical of the Southern Gothic style. The Brache-Bonnefoi collection includes over 1,000 works (paintings, drawings, etc.) by 151 different artists, including Vasarely and Hentaï.

Cas Castle

a historic home

Cas castle

Surrounded by formal gardens, Château de Cas takes visitors on a journey through history. Château de Cas is a listed historic residence.

Founded in the 9th century and the seat of a Templar commandery in the 13th century, Château de Cas suffered severe damage during the French Revolution and later during the Second World War. Its owners, the de Lastic Saint Jal family, raised it from the ruins.

Take a guided tour of some 15 rooms in the château and its outbuildings, through time and the family history of the de Lastic family. You'll be amazed by the wealth of historical facts you'll hear along the way: the Gallo-Roman site, the Templar treasure, not to mention the historical figures who left their mark on the place...
