Tourist tax
The taxe de séjour (tourist tax) applies to all persons accommodated for remuneration who are not domiciled in the commune. It is payable by guests of legal age. Its aim is to ensure that local taxpayers do not bear the full cost of tourism. Revenues from the taxe de séjour are allocated in their entirety to the promotion of tourism by the local authority collecting the tax (Article L. 2333-27 of the CGCT).
