Grès naturel émaillé à la cendre de bois. La poterie Hulotte est un atelier familial né 1954. At La Hulotte pottery, we are reviving a long tradition of popular, beautiful and useful ceramics. We make our pottery by hand, by throwing and modelling, using La Borne clay, a natural stoneware clay. After decoration and drying, our pieces are glazed with wood ash and fired in a single-firing process at 1300° Celsius. Jean-Baptiste CARRIQUIRY, the grandson, now runs the pottery, from the choice of clay to the final firing, as well as designing, making and decorating the pieces.
In the shop, you'll find a wide range of utilitarian pieces, including dishes, jugs, vinegar dishes, cups, bowls, plates, etc., as well as traditionally-inspired modelled pieces, statues, finials, etc. You'll also find some fine wheel-thrown pieces, wall fountains, oules, oil jugs, etc.
