Paying attention to the natural environment
Numerous protected areas have been awarded the Natura 2000 label. Natural Areas of Ecological, Faunistic and Floristic Interest.
Zones Naturelles d'Intérêt Ecologique, or Espace Naturel Sensible, among others. Far from the hustle and bustle of the big cities, the enchanting landscapes of the Causses and Gorges de l'Aveyron offer a unique experience, a singular adventure. At night, the sky is carpeted with brilliant, twinkling stars that light up our horizon.
Responsible travel
How about taking care of our surroundings?
With the aim of making travelers aware of the beauty of the destination and the importance of taking care of it, the Tourist Office encourages visitors to the region to adopt good practices.
As a conscientious and respectful traveler of our planet, you are committed to adopting eco-responsible behaviors throughout my travels. Here are the rules to which every visitor to the region must commit:
Respect for the environment
I am committed to respecting local ecosystems by avoiding disturbance to flora and fauna. I favor activities that preserve nature.
Respecting marked trails
Respect marked hiking trails.
Waste reduction and sorting
I try to reduce waste by using reusable containers and avoiding single-use products. I sort my waste using the appropriate garbage cans and dispose of it in the areas intended exclusively for this purpose.
Sustainable transport
I prefer environmentally-friendly modes of transport, such as walking, cycling or public transport, to reduce my carbon footprint.
Parking and camping
I only park in designated areas and do not camp in the wild, out of respect for the area and its inhabitants.
Responsible consumption
I choose local and seasonal products, and support companies that adopt sustainable practices. I pay attention to my water and energy consumption.
Support for local communities
I support initiatives that benefit local communities, whether through accommodation, catering or activities.
- By following this charter, I am contributing to sustainable and responsible tourism, in order to preserve our planet for future generations.
