Free lecture given in English on the visionary architect who restored Saint-Antonin's Maison Romane and many other buildings. Discover the story of this controversial architect, who restored the Maison Romane, followed by numerous Gothic cathedrals. More than anyone else, he shaped and embodied the policy regarding historic monuments—through his writings, his restoration work and the controversies that work sparked. His influence persists to this day, as seen when decisions had to be made—following the 2019 fire—regarding the restoration of his famous spire at Notre-Dame de Paris.
