The church of Saint-Jean Baptiste, a remarkable building listed as a Historic Monument, was built in the 12th century by the local inhabitants to serve the community that had grown up under the protection of the castle. From the outset, it belonged to the Abbey of Saint-Antonin, of which it was one of the many priories. As it stands today, it belongs to the 14th century as a whole. It was rebuilt in 1342, but subsequently enlarged and modified.It was consecrated by the Bishop of Cahors on 21 December 1533.The church comprises a single 14th-century nave and a splendid seven-sided choir dating from 1470.The exterior of this 12th-century church is remarkable for its elegant chevet adorned with high mullioned windows and powerful buttresses.The interior features a single 14th-century nave and a magnificent seven-sided choir. You can admire the choir's stained glass windows and an exceptional work by the sculptor Zadkine: a monumental Christ made in 1954 from an abalone trunk.9 am to 6 pm all year round. Free admission.
