39th Festival L'Eté de Vaour

Every year since 1986, the small village of Vaour and its inhabitants have welcomed thousands of spectators of all ages to enjoy the performing arts: circus, puppets, theatre, street arts... and free concerts in a friendly atmosphere. The visual for this 39th edition marks a new collaboration. It is the work of illustrator and silkscreen artist Jean Mosambi. The L'été de Vaour festival was originally a burlesque theatre festival held at the beginning of August in the Tarn countryside. Romain Bouteille, Yolande Moreau and Marc Jolivet all appeared on stage at L'été de Vaour in the 1980s, giving the event a huge reputation from the outset. The artistic line-up broadened in the 2000s - rural comedies, tragi-comedies, theatre, circus, clowning, mime, object theatre, music, dance, street shows, concerts - L'été de Vaour has become a festival where all artistic aesthetics are represented. Eclecticism is a key feature. First and foremost through the multi-disciplinary programme, but also through the diversity and mix of audiences. The meeting of generations and different socio-professional backgrounds is a sign of openness and conviviality. Since 2011, the association has been committed to offering the widest possible access to all those with a desire for culture. To achieve this, it has developed a coherent pricing policy that is mindful of this issue, and has created a fair balance between paying and free shows. What's more, L'été de Vaour continues to build on the three pillars that have forged its reputation: artistic quality, laughter and its village setting. In figures, L'été de Vaour means 1 village of 350 inhabitants, 6 days of festivities, around 15,000 spectators, 80 artists, 160 volunteers, over 5,000 paid admissions, more than 25 shows and thousands of smiles...
