Gérard Capou is an authentic artist who has found his niche in 'Composition Painting', combining tradition and innovation.
*Jean-Gabriel Jonin Halls This exhibition, which opens the season, plunges us into Gérard Capou's abundant pictorial universe.
A painter from the Tarn region, some of you will remember his studio in Cordes sur Ciel, which he occupied from 1970 to 1982, while others will have listened to him with great interest during the drawing classes he gave in Gaillac and the painting courses he organised. His insatiable curiosity, his passion for painting and drawing, but also for music and poetry, all his life he never stopped painting, practising new techniques (tapestry cardboard, watercolour, oil on paper, vat paper, etc.), drawing inspiration from the great masters of art and sharing his knowledge.
We pay tribute to him through this exhibition, which includes some fifty paintings, drawings and tapestry cartoons, as well as documents tracing his career.
Oscillating between reality and appearances, between rigour and magic, between fidelity to tradition and adventure, this is my philosophy of life: to exist AT THE LEVEL OF MY DREAMS...

Brigitte and Isabelle Capou, his daughters, will be present at the inauguration.
