The Société des Amis du Vieux Cordes is organising a day devoted to exploring the water architecture of Cordes-sur-Ciel as part of the European Heritage Days. Guided tour, mainly on foot: the wells (de la Halle, collective, individual, semi-detached), springs, water towers, the catchment gallery (13th-14th centuries), the "miraculous spring", mills, tanneries, bridges, waste water, the water treatment plant ....
Meet at the free car park at the bottom of Cordes (next to the caravan park). Car pooling available for some parts of the tour.
Free per person, but with a conscience. Packed lunch.
Since 1904, the association Société des amis du vieux Cordes (SAVC) has been dedicated to preserving the heritage and history of Cordes-sur-Ciel. It owns four of the town's gates, and is responsible for restoring and maintaining them. It also runs the Charles Portal museum.
