Let yourself be seduced by this show devoted to French chanson, part of the Beaulieu-en-Rouergue Abbey Festival. From Ferrat to Ferré
Jean Ferrat has gone, leaving us heirs to his music, his ardent struggles and his humanity, closing one of the most beautiful chapters in our shared history. A working-class kid, orphaned by a father who died in Auschwitz, Jean Ferrat used the arts to heal his wounds, choosing theatre first and music second.
With more than 300 songs (including poems) and some forty original albums, Ferré occupies a central place in the world of French chanson. A poet and musician, he mixed lyricism with slang, love with anarchy.
Eric Perez on vocals, Jean-Marc Padovani on saxophone and arrangements, Alain Bruel on accordion and Julien Duthu on double bass offer an original concert in the form of a musical and poetic journey to the heart of the work of these unclassifiable artists, drawing particularly on their interpretations of the great poets Aragon, Verlaine, Rimbaud and Baudelaire.
