The commune of Espinas stretches from east to west between the two principal towns of the cantons: Caylus and St Antonin. Easily accessible from the main Toulouse-Montauban-Rodez road, it offers a contrast between the causse at St Amans, the terreforts at Mordagne and the ségala at Espinas. These three hamlets were once three communes that came together in 1801. Situated at the centre of the tourist triangle of St Antonin, Cordes-sur-Ciel and Najac, it benefits from the potential developed by the Château de Cas, which is open to visitors and is listed as a historic monument, as is its chapel.
The rental housing stock is doing well, and young households with children will find a primary school not far away, wherever they live in the commune. The commune has a very strong network of associations, with 5 of them sharing an extremely active and energetic activity that extends far beyond the commune itself. The hay-making festival, for example, attracts several hundred people.
