Its varied landscapes reflect the area's human and natural history. Ginals is a commune located at the eastern end of the Tarn-et-Garonne department, in the Occitanie region. It stretches 10 km from east to west and 4 km from north to south, with a population of 207. There is no real village, as the commune is made up of scattered hamlets, such as Lardaillé where the town hall is located, as well as farms and isolated houses. The landscapes are varied, shaped by man over time in a diverse natural environment. The inhabitants, known as Ginaloises and Ginalois, live in a rural setting rich in nature. The commune is crossed by two tributaries of the Aveyron: the Seye, which winds through a fertile valley to the west, and the Baye, which separates the Lardaillé plateau from that of Saint-Igne. The soils, often limestone, clay-limestone or rocky, explain the diversity of the landscapes, alternating between woods, coppice, meadows and fields. The stones quarried from the fields have been used to build dry stone walls, a testament to the hard work of our ancestors.
