• Laguépie

Detailed description : This ancient village could have belonged to the Tarn as well as the Aveyron, as it also borders on this department! Laguépie is a charming village whose primitive rock gives it the Rouergue character. The narrow valleys of the two rivers that mingle their waters here have formed deep furrows in the slopes covered with dense vegetation, dominated by oaks, but above all by the chestnut trees that produce the village's emblematic fruit (in autumn, the chestnut even has its own market in Laguépie). All that remains of the old mining complex, which once supplied copper to the Auvergne craft industry, is some scree, but the imposing ruin of the castle still stands guard over the village. The main leisure activities are linked to nature and water: swimming or relaxing on the beach on the banks of the Viaur, canoeing, mountain bike hire, walking or cycling circuits, fishing, tennis or mini golf at the Arènes leisure centre...
