With just 30 inhabitants, Montrosier is the smallest commune in the Tarn department, covering 330 hectares on the left bank of the Aveyron river. There are no shops here, just a rich variety of flora and fauna. The unobtrusive walker along the inter-municipal path from Féneyrols may spot a heron fishing for gudgeon or a doe quenching its thirst in the company of its fawn.
Cyclists taking the Montauban-Laguépie cycle route along the D34 will take time to photograph the Romanesque-style chapel before continuing on their way to Lexos.
For the record, the chapel at Montrosier only has one of its two bells. In fact, the commune donated one of them to the war effort in 1914-1918.
