Guitar duo - Caroline Cartier & Romain Brizemur
Born of years of artistic complicity, this duo explores with finesse the rich repertoire for two guitars, blending dance, jazz and contemporary music. A sensitive, eclectic encounter for all kinds of music.
CAROLINE CARTIER studied in Prades with Jean-Pierre Grau, then at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental de Saint Germain en Laye (78) in the class of Spanish master Javier Quevedo, where she won gold medals in guitar and chamber music in 1998, as well as an advanced prize in 2001. She then met Alberto Ponce and studied with him at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris. She was awarded her concert licence in 2003.
A concert artist for many years, Caroline Cartier performs in France and abroad (Italy, Spain, Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina) and takes part in festivals in a variety of formations: with violin or flute, in quartet, trio, guitar duo and solo.
She has recorded several albums: solo, duo and quartet.
She holds a teaching certificate and teaches guitar at the conservatoire in Alfortville (94).
ROMAIN BRIZEMUR is also studying classical and jazz guitar (with influences from Django Reinhardt and Pat Metheny).
A prize-winner in several competitions, he has recorded around fifteen albums, including two in collaboration with Didier Lockwood. He has performed at various festivals, including Samois sur Seine and Jazz à Vienne, opening for Stéphane Grappelli and Michel Petrucciani.
A holder of the Certificat d'Aptitude for classical guitar, he teaches in Vincennes (94).
Alongside his work as a guitarist, he composes a great deal of contemporary music for the guitar (chamber music, concerto) and does most of the arrangements for the duo "Les Douces Cordes".
